Applied Science - Overview

 Applied Science department comprises of department of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Humanities. These are the core subjects that lay the foundation of any engineering course. These departments fulfill the teaching requirements of various courses available in the institute. 


The guiding aims of all the departments are:
•    To provide basic teaching in order to elaborate the fundamentals of the subjects.
•    To make students proficient in the applied nature of the subject by making them proficient to solve plenty of numerical problems through written assignments

Laboratories

Excellence in research and teaching has been our goal. We have well equipped spacious laboratories, excellent academic ambience to work. The students are encouraged to design a project and take up an innovative experiment and exhibit their skills in project exhibition.


The various laboratories in the department are:-

Applied Physics Lab

The Applied Physics lab along with separate optics lab is spacious and well equipped with multiple of scientific apparatus pertaining to prescribed courses. The students experience hand on practice through variety of experiments in the field of Mechanics, Magnetism, Modern Physics, Acoustic Sciences, Electronics and Electrical Instrumentation and Optics including Laser and Fiber optics

Applied Chemistry Lab

The chemistry lab houses 25 workstations with major apparatus as calorimeter, high precision electronic balance, dry oven with melting point apparatus, pH conductivity meter, magnetic stirrer , double distillation unit, gas pipeline connection and fire lighting unit as safety gadget.The experiments emphasize on comparing the chemical behavior and physical properties of common substance such as hydrocarbon, metals, water.

Applied Mathematics Lab

 Applied Mathematics lab is a new addition in the curriculum, designed meet the changing industry scenario. With modern computing techniques it has become possible to simulate the problems and compute solutions. In math’s lab using C language and  Matlab software the students learn  data analytics and numerical analysis. 

Language lab

The success in today's competitive world is enhanced by effective communication skills and in the language lab with the help of modern software’s and online study materials provide them an interface for self improvement. 

Under the guidance of qualified trainers language proficiency development related to oral presentation and effective writing, confidence enhancement and team building skills through computer aided teaching are improved.
